The Many Advantages of Ares

Unlike BitTorrent, Kazaa, FasTrack or Limewire, Ares was developed as an open-source program, meaning there are no corporate proprietors or company for the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) to target and persecute. This characteristic of Ares helped it withstand the test of time, surpassing the likes of eDonkey and Napster that were once leading the industry but were later plagued by legal issues and eventually falling on the hands of RIAA sometime in 2006.

Continuous improvements by its developers have made it stay within striking distance against other P2P giants for the file-sharing supremacy. Originally, from a Gnutella platform, Ares has incorporated the rapidly growing BitTorrent to its system, like what Limewire and others have already done. This gives users an increase in both downloading speed and privacy.

As of now, Ares is the only file-sharing network that works behind complex firewalls that try to block such programs, making it handy and available inside campuses and office settings. The software centers mainly on smaller files, boosting the speed for mp3 downloading faster than any other file-sharing program. The ares network has been free from corrupted and fake files until just recently. Still, it is the choice for small file downloads such as music for your iPods and library.
