UMEC congratulates alumna Mara Sternthal on her promotion to Senior Vice President of Business Affairs and Development at Paramount Home Entertainment. She most recently served as Vice President of Paramount's Worldwide Pay Television department.
Congratulations to UMEC University Relations Chair, Alessia Costantini! After landing the Nickelodeon Writing Fellowship, she once again beat out over 1000 applicants from across the country to win one of seven spots in the prestigious ABC/Disney Writing Fellowship with her SCRUBS script. Due to contractual obligations, she will remain at Nickelodeon, where her television episodes of UNFABULOUS and THE X'S are currently in consideration for production.

UMEC'er Robyn Heller stars in a world premiere play at the Celtic Arts Center in Studio City. No Second Trumpet, by William Weber, follows an Irish family as they struggle in the aftermath of the great potato famine in the mid-1800s.

UMEC'er Daniel Cauterucci is crewing for a 35mm Independent short (4 - 5 days) to be shot the first week of March. He's collecting initial applications for key positions: 1st AD, Production designer, gaffer with truck/equipment and Key grip with truck. Must be organized, communicative and a hard worker. Interviews will take place beginning of February. Pay is based on level of experience.
